I always cry at weddings. I really can't help it- I just love, love, and there was no holding back the waterworks when one of my oldest friends said "I do" a few weeks ago in Philadelphia.
The tears actually started months earlier when Stephanie asked if I could put my penmanship to work for her wedding. Wasn't it just yesterday that we were taking the short bus to school and playing with beanie babies? How could we be old enough to be talking about weddings? Steph requested calligraphy for the invitations and escort cards and also to create some unique signs for her reception decor. I agreed without hesitation.
On the big day, everything was picture perfect: from the church to the surprise Mummers dance party, not a single detail was overlooked. It was an honor to have helped with the behind the scenes of the celebration. It was an even bigger honor to have been a guest. Being in the presence of true love between two people and also a group of friends had me feeling all the feels (with and without tears).
Cheers to you, Steph and Lou!
